Sami's New Pastel Room

Today I thought I would share Sami's new room we finished for her a couple weeks ago. We moved into a new home this summer and Sami was ready for a new look in her new room. She chose a palette of pastel pink, mint, and lavender accented with white and gold. Sami is eleven, so I wanted to find a balance of making this room suitable for a girl growing into her teen years while still celebrating what was left of her being a "little" girl. She helped in making most of the design decisions in her room and I think she did such a great job!

We started with her bed and dresser, and gray walls.

The first step was painting the room, we chose Voile Pink by Ben Moore, Purple Essence by Clark & Kensington and Tame Teal by Sherwin Williams.

The quilt set and drapery panels we chose are from Pottery Barn Kids, The fur pillows are from Homegoods. The gold heart sheets, lamp, and pillow came from Target. And the gold alarm clock, from Amazon.

The gold heart garland, white pennant banner, and glitter name garland all came from Pearl and Jane on ETSY. The tassel garland I ordered from Amazon. I love layering garlands, to add depth and textures.
The gold dot decals I found on Amazon, they were very easy to apply and are removable.

The wall art came from Hobby Lobby and Homegoods. And of course we had to put a picture of Sami's baby on her nightstand, our rescued papachi (papillion/chihuahua) Little Prince George Smores Charming.

The poms, I ordered from Amazon, and we had to make them. It was fun. You can never have too many poms in my book! :) I hung them using tacks and it worked well, I started with the largest ones and built from there, arranging as I went. Some were hung from the ceiling and some to the wall. We added battery led fairy lights from Target. And the star garland is also from Pearl and Jane on ETSY.

Prince is sure when there is camera out, it is for him! He has posed for pictures without any help since he was a tiny puppy. He is such a great little guy. :)

For extra storage we added two bookcases from IKEA.

The glitter heart canvas was on clearance at Homegoods.  The large star light was a Christmas special at IKEA, I added the touches gold to it. The Girl Boss bag is from Charming Charlie and the peace marquis sign came from Target. The gold dot runner is from the Target dollar aisle, it was scarf and I did a no sew treatment to it to make it a runner with a glue gun and ribbon for the ends.

On the opposite side of the room we made a desk area. We found a great desk on an online yard sale, we painted it Tame Teal and added the gold hardware.

The lamp, round shelf, and memo boards all came from Target's Pillowfort Collection. The pom pom garland I found on Christmas clearance at a local boutique.

The flowers and hustle sign all came from Homegoods.

Sami loved this fox lamp because it reminded her of Prince.

The white fur desk chair came from Homegoods, the city names did also.

Sami decided to make a vision board on the top and a memory board on the bottom.

Thanks for stopping by to see Sami's new room! If you would like to see more home design posts, you can visit my home design blog,  The Fancy Shack   we will return soon with more doll rooms to share!

American Girl Tenney Grant's Doll House Room

Tenney and Logan came out this week! We had originally planned on this doll room being for Sami's Just Like Me doll, Kayla Rose, but once we saw Tenney Grant's leaks, we immediately knew this room was meant for Tenney! With soft romantic florals and lace with touches of sparkle in her collection, and a country music theme, it was just too fun to work with in this room!

We often are asked where certain items are from in our rooms, so I will be sharing where everything came from in this post.

We hope you enjoy Tenney Grant's room tour!

The paint color we chose for the walls of Tenney's room is Pink Harmony by Ben Moore. It is such a pretty, soft color with tones of  pink and peach blended into a perfect shade of blush.
Tenney's  white daybed and nightstand are both retired American Girl pieces. The bedding and garland I custom ordered from Pearl and Jane on ETSY. I did add some of the embellishments to the pillows, like the hearts and sequin stripes. I also added the gold heart garland, and fairy lights, that I found at Target during Valentines. The initial above the bed is a sticker decal from Michaels that I applied to painted piece of craft wood also from Michaels. The unicorn was a lucky random find on ebay.

The apple lap top is a compact mirror from Amazon.

Tenney's desk is Chrissa's retired sewing table from AG. The large white frame is from IKEA, and we printed off the poster from google. The smaller frame with Dolly is from Hobby Lobby a few years ago. The large light up star was originally a hot pink plastic from Target's dollar aisle last year. We painted it gold and added a sequin trim to it's edges for some added sparkle. The vase and flowers are from Michaels, and we made the tissue poms. The gold zipper case is a pill case from Target and the mini books are from Barnes and Noble. The little gold bird was a salt and pepper shaker we found at Cracker Barrel that we painted gold and added a pink bow to cover the holes on top of it's head. The mini nail polishes came from various Our Generation sets from Target.

We are huge Dolly Parton fans, so we could not leave out our favorite living legend and Country Queen from this room! Tenney's blonde locks, guitar, and love of song writing, reminded of us of our beloved country icon. We also love how Tenney's new hand mold can actually hold the frame!

Tenney''s white fur rug is a piece of fabric I ordered from ETSY.

The small handy white table is actually a vanity bench from the Springfield doll company.

Tenney's tall white bookcase is American Girl's retired Storage Tower.

The chandelier is a locker light we found at Joanns Crafts. The dog bed is American Girl, I spray painted it gold and added the gold dotted sheet to the cushion it came with. The dress form is from American Girl Isabelle's collection, the white dress is from Elite Doll World on ETSY. The jean jacket is from Tenney's meet. and the necklace, from  her picnic outfit accessories.

I found the gold sunburst mirror at a local boutique. The lamp was a Christmas ornament I found at Walmart a couple years ago. I painted it white and gold and added the trim and embellishments.

The boom box is from the Our Generations Car Wash set, the pink flower is an ornament from Hobby Lobby and the gold horse trinket box, we found at Cracker Barrel Country Store. It was originally bronze, but we painted it gold and added the sequin trim.

The Get it Girl case is from Charming Charlie, and the gold boots are from American Girl Saige's collection.

The candle is a mini candle from Bath and Body Works. The flower pot, flowers, and birds are from Michaels.

We just love these perfect sized mini purses we found on clearance at Target. Tenney is quite the hand bag and purse collector! :)

We named Tenney's dog, Dolly, for obvious reasons! :)

Logan came by to visit Tenney and see her new room!

Saige also stopped by for a visit, these two have become fast friends!

Saige was also gracious enough to bring lunch for everyone!

We think Tenney's picnic set is one of the cutest sets ever! The sweet tea with lemon in the mason jars is my favorite! We loved this set so much we had to get two.

Thank you for stopping by to see Tenney's room tour! I will be adding all of our doll rooms we have completed already, to this blog this week.  The next room we will be working on finishing is Samantha's ice cream parlor and I can't wait to share it when it is done!
